About Us

Our Beloved Head Chef and Owner Casey Marcella Cooper was born and raised in Dominica. Her family has been operating The Big Bamboo for years in her home country and within the United States. After serving for many years in the United States military Casey Cooper moved to Japan with her brilliant children. Casey fall in love with Japan and little by little she started sharing her culture here. Understanding the struggle of many that could not go home and enjoy home cooked meals, Casey started cooking at events, for friends and students. 

Opening the first The big Bamboo here in Japan is a wonderful opportunity for us as well as for those who have been missing home. Our establishment is here to serve the customers, and to create an environment that is free and relaxing. Here serving Japanese locals, military personnel, and any other foreigners looking for a good place to eat.
